BEAUTY | My Skincare Routine

I say 'routine' with a loose tongue because I would love to claim that I'm one of those inspirational women who sticks to their facial regime, works out everyday and eats healthily, but unfortunately I'm not and I'm certainly not going to pretend to be!

I will put my hands up and admit that I only carry out this skincare routine a few times a month (I can see you all shaking your heads and tutting at me through the screen.. I know, I'm such a bad person!) but this is something that I'm working on and hopefully one day I will be that girl who boasts about how she keeps up with her skincare routine every evening.

I always start by removing my makeup with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, I prefer to use this over normal facial wipes because the micellar water is one of the only products that doesn't irritate my eyes. The micellar water comes in two different sizes - a full 400ml and a travel 125ml. The 125ml travel size is super handy for taking away with you as it doesn't take up much room at all.

I have used the Clinique anti-redness skincare range for a couple of years now and I swear by it. It does absolute wonders for my skin, which is why I have no idea why I don't carry out my routine every evening as I do really notice a difference.

After all of my makeup has been removed using the micellar water, I apply the Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser using a cotton pad. I massage the cleanser into my face, making sure to pick up any leftover makeup that has been absorbed into my skin.

I follow up by using the Clinique Clarifying Lotion to hydrate my skin and prep it ready for when I apply my moisturiser.

What I love about the redness solutions range the most is the immediate cooling effect that you feel when you apply the products. It's super soothing and instantly makes you feel refreshed.

My favourite part of my routine is moisturising. I use the Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream which is pale green in colour and is super hydrating. I wouldn't say that this moisturiser is thick, but I also wouldn't say that it's thin either - it's just the right consistency.

A little bit does go a fairly long way and I know £40 is pretty expensive for a moisturiser but if you use it sensibly then it does last a while. Again, I can't comment on how long it would last you if you used it everyday (like you're supposed to!) but it doesn't run low quickly.

The eye cream I use is also by Clinique and is the Clinique All About Eyes. Now this is super hydrating as it is a cream/gel formula so is quite wet in consistency. I apply this using tapping motions to both my eyelids and under my eyes (where the dreaded dark circles lay) and they always feel so silky smooth the following evening.

This can be used both day and night and Clinique recommend you do both as the gel-like formula helps to keep your eye makeup in place all day - which is an amazing added bonus.

So there we have it, my pretty non existent skincare routine! I understand that purchasing all of these products in one go would amount to quite a high figure, so I suggest purchasing both the cleanser and moisturiser first and then maybe the next month investing in the clarifying lotion and the eye cream - this is how I did it anyway and it worked out perfectly for me without breaking the bank!

I do really need to up my skincare routine game as we do only get one face and I need to take a lot more care of mine!

My 5 Desert Island Beauty Must Haves ♡

If I were to be banished to an island (I really hope that never happens because my survival skills would be so embarrassingly bad) where I could only take five makeup items with me, that would be hell #firstworldproblems.

In all serious though, the five makeup items I would take with me would be;

1. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (post here)

This is my number one, ride or die foundation. I've only ever tried five foundations before and this one is by far the best! It's the perfect coverage for me and doesn't leave me looking oily or too dry. The shade match to my skin is beyond amazing and this would be the first makeup item on my list to take with me.

2. Benefit Hello Flawless! Powder

A.K.A. the only powder I have used for the past two/three years now. It doesn't give a lot of extra coverage but also isn't completely pointless by offering none. It doesn't leave my face looking flat when it mattifies it which is a m a z i n g and again, the colour match is great.

3. Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector - Champagne Pop (post here)

This is possibly the best highlighter ever!? It's a gorgeous peachy champagne shade which is perfect for every skin tone - including very pale, like me. I rave about this highlighter a l o t and I know it's probably not necessary but I am obsessed so it would have to come with me.

4. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (old post here) (newer post here)

My holy grail mascara is Roller Lash by Benefit and I could not live without it (well, I probably could but my eyelash game would not be strong..) so this little baby would 100% have to come with me to the island. It separates, curls and lengthens my lashes and I've never found a mascara to do all three of these things and also tame my lashes so they actually look fairly decent and trust me, I have over 10 different mascara's so I've tested a fair few.

5. ABH Brow Wiz

I've tried using other products to fill in my brows and nothing compares to how natural yet defined your brows look when using this little gem. I'm currently using the new ABH Brow Definer (review coming soon) as my Brow Wiz has ran out, but I will no doubt be re-purchasing it very soon as it's a complete love of mine.

So there are the five makeup items that are my desert island beauty picks! I highly recommend all of these products to anyone and everyone as I really do think that they're a m a z i n g.

People on Snapchat you NEED to Follow ♡

The title of this post seems quite bossy.. But what I actually mean is 'people who I find really interesting on snapchat that I love following and I thought I would share that with you in case you love them too' - but that's kinda too long so I opted for 'you NEED to follow' instead and put 'need' in capitals just because.

Anyway, now that's out of the way, let's get on to the  people that I follow on Snapchat who I think are worthwhile to give a follow to.

1. Jaclyn Hill (jaclynrhill)
This lady is hilarious and I am just as obsessed with her snapchat as I am with her YouTube channel. She never fails to make me laugh and I love seeing what she gets up to in her day-to-day life.

2. Lydia Elise Millen (lydiaemillen)
So obsessed with Lydia it's probably not even normal!? I love how real and down to earth she is - this especially comes across in her snapchats - and her cute kitty Lumi is adorable.

3. Sarah Ashcroft (sarah_ashcroft)
Ah, the life of a fashion blogger! You can always catch Sarah with a cocktail in hand and dressed head-to-toe in some of the most fashionable pieces. I love her snapchat (obviously..) and she seems extremely lovely.

4. Official Zoella (officialzoella)
Following Zoe on snapchat is like watching her daily vlogs in real time - there's always plenty of cute Nala to see and she just cracks me up.

5. Lauren Curtus (lozcurtispublic)
Lauren loves a good rant! Which I genuinely enjoy listening to/watching because she always speaks the truth and knows exactly what she's talking about.

6. Kourtney Kardashian (kourtneykardash)
Out of all the Kardashians (Kylie, Kim and Kourtney) I would definitely say that I prefer to watch Kourtney as her sense of humour is great and she doesn't overwhelm you with 5 minute long stories of herself posing/singing in the car..

7. Official Shay M (officialshaym)
Fancy keeping up with PLL behind the scenes? Give Shay a follow! She'll also make you want to exercise and eat pizza..

So there are a few snapchat people that I find really interesting, I could list more but I literally watch about 20-30 people (I know, I'm so sad..) so that list could potentially go on forever.
